The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 相当超前的概念，身体和意识到底谁是主宰，科技的进步是否会带来人体自身的进化，人类未来到底会走向何种形态。不愧是柯南伯格的拿手好戏，把身体恐惧做得甚至在某种意义上来说非常吸引人。台词里充斥着文化研究的各种术语和概念，甚至感觉自己在看国外的专业教科书。还有一个让人难以忘怀的细节，但闻其声不见其面的苍蝇。
片中的几个装置可以找一个当代艺术中心直接搬进去了。总感觉今天会在梦里再见到Léa和Viggo躺在the Sark里，招我进入身体之中……
个人还是挺喜欢这部，感觉是水准线以上的柯南伯格。在身体异化这个他擅长的母题之外，其实还另有政治寓言深意，从这个角度来说还挺JG巴拉德。不过缺点也是概念多而细节少，不知道导演是不是就没打算拍细节。展示完成就结束了。
