The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 这是2021年最好看的一部电影，比什么明星拍的电影好看多了，希望以后多一些这种影片，影片是一部高品质的作品，看完感觉主题、立意可以带给观者回味
两个人在一起生活了一辈子，男主角没能给女主买一件新衣服，也许这是他们的大爱吧，不过还是有一点不能理解
支教老师的苦不仅在于条件艰苦，更是与思想作斗争，生活习惯的不同，贫困落后食不果腹，居住地漏风漏雨，还要和野生动物还有捕猎者对抗，克服这些以后，还是要面临和昔日好友、家庭之间的选择。忍不住落泪啊。
不错的电影，对藏区的刻画以及人文关怀都表达的很好，支教老师真的很伟大！
感觉有点憋屈，老师感觉全程比较被动也比较艰苦，不过也是支教的真实情况吧
画质很好很清晰，其实一开始我是比较排斥这样的电影里面有感情戏的，但是女主的善良真的让我非常喜欢！
韩老师和梅朵我的意难平啊，喜欢这种有同样的追求和大爱的一对儿，是爱人是朋友是灵魂伴侣
被狼群追那里实在是太逗了，没想到两个人还能那么准确的爬到树上，要是我的话，可能直接就被吃了吧哈哈
其实很多地方的泪点都已经预料到了，但是真的来的时候还是没有忍住眼泪
如果没有遇到韩松老师，僧格将来可能呆在草原上放牧，但是在韩松老师的教导下，僧格当上了消防员。这就是教师的意义吧
在这个物欲横流的社会，人与人之间如此纯净的情感，已经几乎绝迹了。
大草原和蓝天很美，那里的人也很纯朴可爱，不错的电影。
藏区的美丽风光令人心驰神往，师生、兄妹、男女主之间淳朴真挚的情感更是催人泪下。
藏区理解不深，不过感觉在那个年代，孩子们和当地人穿得应该是再脏乱旧一点的
男主演技不错，哭戏也很真实，特别是母亲病危那里，鼻涕都是真实的，佩服了
主旋律的电影，似乎一定要人命牺牲才显出高大伟大。但若朗措大哥好好活着，好好陪着学生，不好吗？还有僧格，也算是强行牺牲了。
