Julien Duvivier最好的作品之一也是他认为自己所有默片中最喜欢的一部。
Summary
Bullied by his matriarchal mother, abused by his siblings, ignored by his father, Poil de Carotte's childhood is as miserable as it could be. An illegitimate child, he is the main reason for the enmity which exists between his parents, who continue to live together just to keep up appearances. In the end, Poil de Carotte's suffering becomes more than he can bear...
Review
Drawing heavily on the poignant novel by Jules Renard on which it is based, Poil de carotte is a modest yet appealing film which has stood the test of time mainly because of the quality of its acting performances and its inherent humanity. It is more memorable than Julien Duvivier's earlier silent version of 1925, also named Poil de Carotte.
The part of Poil de Carotte was played by 11 year old Robert Lynen, who was alleged to have been discovered whilst walking down the Champs-Elysées in Paris. Lynen is totally captivating and the film made him an instant star, launching what looked like becoming a very promising film career – until he was shot dead whilst fighting against the Germans in 1944. Harry Baur, a legendary stage and film actor (who also died during World War II, allegedly at the hands of the Gestapo), also turns in a typically fine performance. The reconciliation between father and son at the end of the film provides its most enduring image, enough to melt the heart of all but the most stoical of spectators.
服化道美术这些视觉部分还是很强啊。不过影片本身，更像是陀螺自己在还愿了，去重温一场旧梦。但这样的电影，在当下确实很少共鸣了。
完成度很高，故事看似复杂，其实很简单，主要是前面一半太拖沓了，让人感觉意味不明，后半部分渐入佳境，结尾最好。这部片子最亮点的，其实是BC和CB两位的x张力，双A强强太带劲了。
服化道摄影灯光表演都很完美，但是故事有点欠缺，还好结尾收的不错。★★★☆
不错。前半部拖沓了一点，但最后那个镜头足够呼应到了，才有了惊心之感。道高一尺，魔高一丈。都怪人性中的贪婪。

一个三角恋和黄赌毒交错的故事，前面还有点大鱼的影子，后面就拉胯了
前面鋪墊了許多，但感覺始終摸不著邊際，演到中段後才漸漸切入主題，走向卻勉強又缺乏說服力。
很艰难的耐着性子看完了。前面三分之一马戏团的戏码和后面城市的戏码仿若两部剧的拼凑，观感特别割裂。对男主的内心创伤的描绘总觉得不够清晰，也没有太看懂最后凯特扮演的心理医生的转变。以及必须说一句，前面马戏团的剧情真的看得身心不适，无论是畸形人还是特异表演，都看得我浑身不舒服。再以及，看评论才知道原来这部电影也是《水形物语》的导演，难怪两部片都给我一种类似的不适感，以后要避雷这个导演，大概和我八字不合。
大导不愧是大导，能把这么一个cult片题材的故事，讲得这么传奇。大魔王凯特布兰切特和布莱德利库伯的演技很赞，尤其是库伯，结尾崩溃的哭笑触人心弦，凌晨两点看完久久难以释怀。
女性角色很有魅力，尤其是布兰切特最后的反击太酷。然而太冗长了，疲惫的心不想看漫长的恶有恶报的故事，想看善有善报和小动物跳舞。【老年
tooooooooooo boring……、为什么要翻拍这么老的电影，还翻拍的没有任何新意，这么无趣……
这片真没啥可讨论的空间。但真的，你能在陀螺身上，看到这种老导演对每一个场景每一个镜头奉献出精致的工匠精神是多么值得尊敬啊。电影美术部门实在是太强了，看得过程一直在想，这么艺术又那么美的光是什么打的啊？第一部分氛围营造的那么好，是怎么做到的呀！怎么轮廓打的那么妙啊！那外面的雪拍的好实又好轻盈，这又是怎么弄的？
we need cate and rooney interactions! 有些电影没有翻拍的必要，绝不是当代应该看到的故事，大概只是陀螺的过把瘾。
7/10 The Greatest Showman + …? Still could find one that fits
cooper的演技、麻辣兔的人设，和这一整部电影，都只能用平庸一词来概括。大魔王满脸就写着三个字：带不动。
叙事非常平淡，但更大的问题可能出在库珀这张朴实的脸上。
前面太长，后面真正的剧情感觉又在快进。库柏演的也很差，对手戏被碾压

拆散大魔王和小白兔就算了，故事也这么老套无趣…
差强人意，陀螺终归倾向于童话式的叙事系统，没有复杂的欲望冲动，也不带有真实的罪恶感，至于几位明星演员则更不能使人信服，还是想念《水形物语》的好
