The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 土方岁三视角新选组的故事，剧情比较平缓，时长有点赶，大量的背景信息一句话带过，虽然我有一点相关历史知识看着还有点不太明白。
看电影都快睡着了，没有战争的大场面，画面黑白的，剧情无聊。

厌恶司马氏给血腥历史安插温柔女性。也厌恶导演的悲情化处理。三岛由纪夫说黑泽明的人道主义是幼稚的人道主义，若伊见今之原田，黑泽或也能得到些君子固穷的赞许了。
故事简单而纯粹，画面沉静而诗意，非常特别的一种观影体验。

悲壮的战争可以是大炮轰鸣，可以是枪击连连，但是也可以是孤军在陌生环境静悄悄的前行，在寂静中迎接未知的艰险，紧张的氛围感一下拿捏住了。
新选组的故事不长不行，群像与自相残杀都是要有剧情积累的，但这片选角不错，尤其是芹泽鸭，有文化的流氓。
画面太美了，风格想起让人《影》，内容想起《敦刻尔克》，整体还是像流水账了。

无论从摄影调度还是内在表达来讲，都是很中国式的。水墨一般的静谧山水，直面残酷的信仰铸成，都有一种很强的张力。
