  3.7分。 这部片子算是回到了麦克·米尔斯的那部《初学者》的水平，大量的闪回画面，看似无意义实则扎着绵密注脚的读书文字，都让我们感受到朦胧和多义的味道。 一个舅舅在缺爱多年后，临时照顾外甥，由此展开了一段有欢喜有烦恼的人生小插曲，在此之中，三个人都得到某种程度的成长。舅舅不再遮盖伤痕，妈妈重新认识了儿子，小男孩有了继续生活的勇气，从底色上依然是美式积极价值观的重拾，但叙述的方式和影像的魅力却不同寻常。成人如何重新定义自己？孩子如何发掘长大的勇气，这个话题可能是贯穿米尔斯电影最为重要的一个命题。

Cinematography is alright but not really impressive, watching this back to back with Red Rocket the difference is so obvious (ok B&W is at disadvantage but still).The interview bits aren't integrated organically into the story, and it feels like the feel-good, "heartfelt" material got mixed in just for audience appeal.

  近几年来最好看的一部。动作戏虽然占了大部，但也不会让人厌烦。佐藤警官和高木警官的恋爱进展更是值得关注。

  有种奇妙的矛盾感的电影。1.小男孩眼神空洞，像有着老者的灵魂，但又简单纯真。他validate emotion的常识，甚至比大多数成年人还多，但我又在想本是玩泥巴的年纪，知道这些究竟是好还是坏，本片也不回避，最后通过问答给出了“会比爸爸好”的答案，也算是叙事完整吧。2.全片一直在说要express feelings，但是电影却选择了压抑的黑白色调，导演必定有他的想法，无谓对错。美学确实足够，尤其是光线从窗户外照进植物上，美极了。
