The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 孩子和父母的关系，在时空穿越之下，更显得暖心。长大后，回头看，很多我们不记得的回忆，很多难以解释的情感，在小时候竟然看得比成人更清楚。在科幻的外壳下，讲的却是一个直击心灵的拷问。为人父母之后，其中意义更能体会。希望吧，男孩子总是会回到母亲身边的。而孩子，也会更多地得到父母的肯定。

比《失控玩家》要好，起码剧本是一气呵成的。内核其实很温暖，它本质上也是部家庭电影，教导不同年龄段的人该如何面对亲人的离世，即使这种温情戏码又稍显烂俗，但还是那句老话，人人都嫌弃Netflix，没了Netflix，可能还真没有人搞原创科幻了。

其实比起穿越科幻，更接近儿童亲情，穿越只是个用于表达内心想法的工具。所以本至上就是个全年龄合家欢的作品，反派都当的那么标准和套路…

整体是有趣好看的，文戏有点拖沓，主创在做一部商业爽片和加入普世思考的科幻片中有些摇摆，其实观众根本不会在乎这些很难自圆其说的时间设计，好看就可以了。
