The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will.     优点就在于它不像其他麻花电影。但有人不喜欢也可能是因为同样的原因。至少是一次不错的尝试，也说明国产电影离工业化还有一段距离。

    前半段本来挺好的，笑点也都还不错，结果后半段彻底跑偏，并且在我最讨厌的无脑好莱坞式英雄主义情结上无法自拔。基于对开心麻花的期待，我一直希望最后哪怕来一个喜剧的无厘头的收尾也行，结果竟然就是最老套的英雄主义，最讨厌的结尾没有之一。受不了后面的强行煽情和各种bug和个人英雄主义崇拜情节，没办法因为前面的喜剧就打高分，剧本确实跑偏太多了。

    仍然是短视频思维的电影，可以有莫名其妙像只狗的袋鼠，可以不管所谓设定随意“科幻”，可以有无死角乱视角的全程直播，并且一定要有可供剪辑和变成谈资的“冥场面”，比如宇宙中举着核弹一边飞一边深情告白…不知是更鸡贼还是更真诚，反正没有更好笑，不过这次也只是中年意淫，没有过多的下流段子，这才是让我觉得这次并没有那么“开心麻花”…人类毁灭是幻想，“独行”在地球才是现实，让大家观看一场盛大的自杀仪式，通过直播重新唤醒“二舅精神”，这一切都挺赛博朋克的…

    这年头都流行玩尬的么？？宣传的喜剧，喜剧元素就是谐音梗玩尬的？然后疯狂上升高度 然后上升到男主直接死了？根本想不到 奔着沈马来的 开心麻花一堆人，最搞笑 全片唯一让我笑出声的居然是黄子韬，太顶了。这年头为什么想看一个从头笑到尾，让人能笑出声的喜剧电影这么难呢 ？我还是接着看屎尿屁吧，虽然低俗 起码不玩尬的。

    虽然最后又在煽情上价值，但不耽误搞笑哈哈~虽然也是各种烂梗，但“今天也是元气满满的一天呀”还是印象很深刻！感觉是为沈腾量身打造的角色，小人物之光，他演猥琐都不令人讨厌…

    6，挺遗憾的，这样的故事和特效，假如不是麻花的团队换一个更严肃更有水准的团队，或许电影的上限可以更高，我佩服麻花发现故事的眼光，也可惜他们烂俗的造梗能力和过于迎合大众审美的媚俗态度，虽然他们已经很努力在视听和制作上努力补足短板了，但终究还是主创审美决定一切了。

    电影院座无虚席，但是看得如坐针毡。这七拼八凑的剧情，基本梗都是能预估的俗套，几分钟来一次的主旋律升华…不如看八一建军。
