The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 整体剧情非常平淡，东木老爷子一把年纪了还亲自下场也挺不容易了，祝福老爷子长命百岁吧！
如何温柔地与现实妥协，脚步放缓的同时也试图想让一切变的更加细水长流，让所有的美好都更加美好，让所有的温情都更加动人，没有任何技巧，没有任何所谓的套路与转折，只看到我们自己内心真正想要的东西。不过可以看出最后的倔强依然也在被保留和坚持，这趟关于西部情怀的公路之旅，是应该让当下花花世界所看到的，需要被铭记的那段回忆与歌谣。所有美好到不真实的瞬间都或许是自己享受过的梦境，不愿醒来，因为醒来的时候眼角会湿润。
故事比较平淡，缓慢，老爷子90多还挺硬朗，女人见了都为之着迷，他也只想搂着女人跳跳舞。
该是老爷子的最后一部电影了吧，且看且珍惜。

我不知道如何治愈“老去”,我所做的，不过是生命中的另一个选择。
东木大爷年过九十依然奋战电影一线，令人钦佩，还希望看到老爷子贡献佳作。
我真的好喜欢东木啊，但这部里他一直以来的那种暴躁迟暮英雄反差温柔太直白了就真的只剩普普通通的公路电影。只喜欢前十分钟，但就只为了骂完老板之后那个塑料躺椅上的日落，我也还觉得值得。
有点儿老年版完美的世界的意思 老年的更平和更温暖 也更自恋 经得起诱惑 把的住情感 既有牛仔的骄傲 也有迟暮的姿态 虽然整体上是拉夸了点 但东木还是很迷人的 那种老牛仔的气息

因为Paul Schrader骂战去看了，站Schrader。陈腔烂调。东木老爷可能是该退休了
一老一少，一段road trip，路上遇见的人都帮他们，女人爱主角，问题都能迎刃而解。不行，即便这是东木的，也不行。
东木老大爷真是劳模啊！强扭的西部片没有灵魂。
且看且珍惜吧，91岁的老人，还在诉说牛仔精神的真髓，就不再挑剔尚能饭否了。看《完美的世界》的时候，我一直在想东木自己出演会是啥样，心满意足了。
独属于老爷子的浪漫，英雄迟暮却仿佛风华正茂。夕阳西下，荒漠人家。有人驯马，有人追杀…没有人比伊斯特伍德更懂西部片。Macho瑞思拜，爷俩换了三辆车终于开上奔驰了。怎么说呢，有种《完美的世界》平行HE时空的感觉…

91岁了，老爷子还是步履不停地拍着电影，牛逼。其实电影挺老套的，黄土、旷野、骏马、西部牛仔、老爷车，一样都没缺席，一部孩子和老人的公路电影，闲着无聊看也是没问题的。但这个91岁的老白男还让美人赶着睡他爱他是不是也太自恋了啊……
