The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 温情的末世小品，忽略掉微微突兀的加州情怀（？），都很好。
很遗憾，看多了给机器人赋予人类感情的片子，十足反感，撕扯的是人类，所有温情赋予狗和机器人，还不虚伪么，真的，这么残忍的末日桥段，人吃人都很正常， 会让狗活着？机器人能奴役，还平等对待干嘛? 这样所有的温情都显得苍白无力。人类之间互相厮杀，属于人类的情感留给动物和机器人，这样的主旨无法认同。
我始终觉得，机器人成为人是一种生物学意义上的退化。而让机器人成为人以后，同时还生前死后都享有他的忠诚——这不是人类的矛盾，这只是人类的自大。

看起来像是十几年前的剧本故事，不像是这几年的电影
没有想象中感动我。这片最优秀是唯一主演，省了很多片酬。一眼望到头的故事是最大短板，你知道他会死，也知道到死一定感动你，这种感动就弱化了很多

—末日题材往往太重末日，轻情感。此片有点《我是传奇》和《机器人总动员》的感观。
