The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 男主演技是真的不错 但是这种话剧风格的电影还是不太合适我
马东锡算是把正义暴徒演到骨子里了。第二部在人物性格的挖掘上更近了一步，笑点的编排也不生硬，各种娱乐元素的运用简直是炉火纯青。爽快之余，看着韩国的电影产业，真是羡慕啊。
大boss往往杀人不见血。想法是好的，但有些牵强，黑帮不像黑帮，裁缝不像裁缝，加上故事限制在一个独立空间（裁缝店）中，所以难免会体现出非写实，而是「戏剧」的质感。
前面都很精彩，悬念重重层层反转，不过最后的揭秘我有点没看明白，全是裁缝策划的？他卧薪尝胆多年布局，挑起两个帮派的争端对自己有什么好处？而且每一步都需要运气成分，有点太巧了
剧情反转有点生硬，特别是女接待员那个，但男主的演技真的太自然了，明明在骗人却还是一副特别无辜的样子
但看下来，首尾呼应，让人觉得完整。
叙事节奏明快，直入主题，马东锡打戏部分频频让我咂舌，但在角色上塑造上过于表面，没能更加细致刻画角色的个性。
严丝合缝，短小精湛！我不是裁缝，是一个剪裁师，我还想做个好人～
节奏把控如同穿针引线，精细又妥帖，在一众赶复古潮流的新片里，只有这部真的抓住了复古的精髓——优雅
“粗暴”到极致了，某种意义上比超英片还要简单和夸张，对于动作的想象与借鉴在韩式写实风的基础上彻底由香港电影转向了如今好莱坞大行其道的雷奇和史塔赫斯基们，马东锡成为了机械降神般的纯符号，这里没有角色甚至没有电影，有的只是他一击击重拳之下观众巨大的解压或泄愤，毕竟生活中少见这样的快意恩仇，在激爽之余，又对现实始终抱有遗憾的清醒，主创清楚明白该系列的定位，从为庶民提供宣泄的出口这一点上讲，这套片可以无休无止的拍下去，市井永远需要这样的电影，这也是相当一部分韩国平民&公务员动作片的共同点，它们有意无意间都成为了阶级情绪的代言人。
玩了个东南亚叙事，可惜又回到了韩国，缺少第一部移民社区的空间感，各方面都显得像一般的动作片了。既然工作地点没变，他怎么管起整个首尔的治安了，膨胀了
单一室内场景，排个话剧挺合适的。前一小时比较闷，压迫感很差，此后开始的连环反转迅速将故事推向高潮，成为食物链底层的终极反杀，但结尾还是有点刻意了。
困境反转的剧情一点都不有趣，
从两人在裁缝铺里受伤吵架开始，就知道老头是最终布局者，果然~
悬念与对话的风格有点希区柯克的感觉，剪辑出色（必须配得上cutter！），几处点烟的细节留意到了：独自一人意识到戏幕已然拉开时屡次划不开打火机的紧张，刚处理了少东家之后奉烟但不奉火的静观其变，准备伏击拉芳丹时主动帮点火的假意结盟。心里一套嘴上一套的英国人呐，你们也是玩儿不过。
格局有点小，也并不能完全经得住推敲。如果从一开始就是男主埋线布的局，那么之后的走向其实是非常随机和难以掌控的。当然，细节还是比较精巧有趣。后半部分层层递进越来越好。如果把这个故事改成古装武侠，那么就是男主虽然已退隐江湖，却依然有绝世武功。为保护女子而挑起江湖中血雨腥风。
小巧舞台剧，反转嘛肯定有刻意与巧合的地方，大方向上没有出离人物就合格啦。

大爽片，匕首斧子砍刀乱战媲美黄海了，马东锡碾压式的实力真硬派。
没有那么好，但也不算糟糕，算是日渐萧条的好莱坞，重新拍了一部合格的室内悬疑片。
