The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 高饱和度的画面、明亮的客厅，给岌岌可危的我的脆弱的生活带来了浓郁的久违的新鲜。没有朝生暮死的放纵，是80年代很有希望的感觉。内向的小哥这里真的表现得很内向，很棒。甘斯布美丽又游刃有余，非常女神。
看这种家庭剧情片我的眼泪就不会缺席，后面四个人围抱在一起时，音乐欢快，但我却狂掉眼泪。妈妈重返社会，在工作中成长；被人善良对待，她也将爱意回报出去；受过伤害，依旧能勇敢接受新的约会。妈妈是好温柔的人呀！小女孩则有种忧郁和天真混合的美，为了保持彼此间纯粹的感情，选择告别这段温馨的日子，电影院常客的她最终找到了与电影有关的工作。她和儿子的关系会有些像《Normal people》吧。“有一种温暖的东西，是永存的”，好想遇到温暖的人和事，虽然现在是夏天。晚安晚安，夜旅人。
《巴黎夜旅人》是一部让人印象深刻，流连忘返的电影。很奇怪，虽然我们离法国距离、文化、意识都相去甚远，可本人在那些“巴黎夜旅人”身上却感受到了无限的共鸣。这大概正是电影的魅力吧。

78/100 #EFM# 有一些“低清私影像”，将档案片段巧妙地缝在其中，也总有一些时间上的跳转。片刻细腻，总能找到轻盈又深沉的忧郁情绪。人们不缺爱，但从不会停留。仿佛唤起了过去的巴黎的一段时光。
是那种看完了不太会记得剧情，虽然也没有太多。但会一直沉浸在电影的情绪当中，给人感觉非常舒服的两个小时
非常touch到我，敏感 柔软 脆弱。在这个有城市窗的房子里，这不是想象的生活但我们尽力过去热爱它。80年代，巴黎，那个整体价值所在的世界，这种生活方式、人际关系、年代背景和城市样貌对于今天的我们是永恒缺失的，正是这种缺失使我们不停追求。

- 如此轻柔的切入，只取一丝寂寥，我与你共游巴黎夜景街区，走入电影院，听着电台另外一端的夜旅人倾诉那些有趣的，无特定含义的二三，窗外的风景打在脸上，掀起无人察觉的波澜，召回独属于巴黎这座城市既浪漫又忧郁的情感。结尾他们一起坐在草坪上，让我想起《罗马》，美好定格在瞬间。
3.4，温柔浪漫的一部作品
即将离开的旧屋，她把自己珍藏的日记本和“生育女神”分赠给儿子和女儿并告诉他们自己如何走出人生那段最艰难的时光。
再多糟糕透顶的生活也还不过是在时间的长河中被揉碎，在这么荒诞的一天看这么一部温情的电影，生活中真的太缺少那些让人值得去执着的事了，坍塌的日子也要努力留给自己一些安宁吧。OST很好，曲子值得找来一听在听，张弛间似乎也能感受到呼吸的空隙，那些时间空白格。
