The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 女主在别人眼里看似窘迫的公路生活，在习惯漂泊的人眼里，有着自己的孤傲与浪漫。让我想起《猜火车》里的那段经典台词，生活中就是有人不想买他妈的大电视，而选择不停地在路上，看群山，看飞鸟，looking ahead, to the day you die.
慢慢的成纪录片式的展开美国中西部的普通人故事。我也是从一个矿业小镇出来的，如今很久没有回去了。

公路片大多是讲旅途见闻和治愈的，这部电影却以孤独为题，离群索居是因为伤痛，浓的化不开。
气氛镜头和音乐的堆砌没有很有效地展示人物的内心世界。前半段描绘美国nomad people的生活处境，后半段表现女主尝试却无法与世界重新产生连接的孤独。结尾把流浪归因为一段曾经沧海难为水的关系是否可信？（这样的关系必然存在，但是否在影片里得到足够扎实的刻画？）

无依，可以是无以依靠，也可以是无需依靠，希望大家都能找到适合自己的依靠方式。
