The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 前面挺文艺的，倒叙手法来讲故事还有错过，挺有年代特色，但也很老套。到后半段，长生不老这个主题出来，捷克实验室里丁萌萌癌变开始，剧情就开始奇幻走向。而最神奇的是郭一鲁从始至终对苏的执念，就像刻在骨子里一样，真的有人可以一辈子一心一意只想着一个人吗？说到最怕的是没有关于对方的记忆，挺残酷，人越老记忆会消失得越快，到最后就是你最怕的样子。王传君的戏和旁白都很好，词很戳我，但整个故事元素太多，情节太离奇了，以致于最后有点四不像。
王朔也恰饭？这也太扯了，照猫画虎本杰明巴顿奇事？
前半段还行…到了第二个女主的故事的时候，感觉像看到了第二个故事，前后转折僵硬，后来想想，应该是把电视剧揉成了一个电影…太奇怪了。
不知道讲了啥 像是爱情像是年代故事也像一个悲剧 却仿佛有一种魅力吸引你看下去 就是没有逻辑的线索串起了故事 王珞丹真美啊 原来爱情就是 你来过一阵子 我记一辈子 如果记忆没有告诉你我爱你 那就用一辈子 用长长的一生去证明 结尾貌似是两个结局 其实我更愿意相信到车祸苏醒那里戛然而止 或许是最好的结局 爱了一生却谁都没有说出口 余生不长了 让他们在一起吧
剧作非常复杂，在国内一众影片中，如此复杂的剧本是十分少见的，虽然复杂但却并非十分出色，首先一点就是在这冗杂的剧作中没能做到扬长避短。同样都是讲述一个人的一生，我们不会觉得大卫·芬奇的《返老还童》冗长无趣，除了芬奇天才般的叙事手法之外，还有就是剧作上扬长避短，懂的何时省略，何时着重。本片摄影意识也很强，试图加强某种史诗感，最后一个伪长镜头更加能体现其迫于展示的欲望，只不过败在了王珞丹给吴彦姝突兀的配音上。
闲着没事看看还挺好的，完成度很高。但是故事没什么亮点，没新意。弹幕都在说这是在抄袭XX。的确像个翻拍。
我们的剧本可以天马行空，但不能是胡编乱造的，而且编剧千万不要陷入自恋。

4.3 问题在于要说的东西太多，以至于2个小时都已经在发疯一般赶剧情了，没有喘息的旧时代怎么可能会共情？比2021年还赶着投胎呢
看评分没抱希望，却还觉得不错。调调很好，情绪把控的也不错，剧情稍垮，总体质量上层。豆瓣对国产片太苛刻了
王朔实在是太过文字自恋，话密到角色说不完的要让旁边来说。影片中段的剧情走向走太偏了，让观众直接失去了对男女主人公命运的关切，不过王珞丹和王传君真是演得好啊。
短短两个小时，仿佛漫长的一生。

看《不老奇事》还是会想起三年前初读剧本的感动，整个电影就是对生死的探讨，参杂着朔爷后期温和的感触。郭小鲁这一生都在告别和追逐，告别亲人、朋友、爱人，追逐人生的意义命运的波澜和内心的渴望。有过懵懂灿烂的童年，野心勃勃的少年，愤世嫉俗的青年，经历过人事仍对未来有幻想和恐惧的中年，然而直到老年才悟道“所谓生，不过就是死之前的那段路程，而期间最美丽的风景，是世界和平安宁，是内心从容淡定……”

在实验室日复一日寻找干细胞，就如徐福带领三千童男童女寻仙丹，没有什么长生不老，没有什么是永恒的，美人迟暮，日薄桑榆，我们只能在时间的推动下被动地走向死亡。
四星，半星给演技，我觉得好的文艺电影是每个人都能看出自己的东西，而不是大部分人看不懂你说的是什么
