The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 很久没到这样诚意令人惊喜的恐怖喜剧片，上一个还是双宝斗恶魔，唯一遗憾的就是结局被那对小人夫妻举报落网，还有嘴欠的极端女婿没被吃掉。最后，远离那些所谓的素食主义者，这些人跟中国的极端狗粉一样，都是疯子精神病。
一镜到底终归是一种方式而已，总感觉像一个刚拿到摄影机的毛头小子，好奇心促使他一头冲进职场，左拍右摄的看见啥都兴奋，尽情的收进镜头，一直开机还忘了关机的路子。要想讲好故事还得靠内容，不要太贪恋这种手法哦。

小情侣的日常甜蜜生活，尽管有挫折，还是相信爱可以克服一切，真好。
一次短暂又深刻的相聚，泪目。两个人在一起之后，小天使 Cai 变得更加包容和理解，长大了哈，而天使 Gav 变得更像个孩子，会情绪失控，被童年的阴影萦绕，依然那么善解人意，那么爱 Cai。他们在一起，真的是相互拯救。
素食主义=食草动物，肉食主义=食肉动物，如果能够多一点隐喻就好了

拖了很久，看到第二季出来了，才下决心看完。也因为拖了那么久，没太带入。小演员们很棒。不过看完突然想重刷《电影爱情故事》了。

简简单单 ！！爱情也易如此 。剧情看着蛮舒服的 …
剧本很有功力，在空间和时间都有限的情况下不断制造戏剧冲突，结合片名“沸点”，就觉得整个过程像是煮开水般逐渐升温，不只是男主自己在面临失控局面，是片中每个人都焦躁不安，被客人嫌恶的女服务员，得不到涨薪的女厨师，被员工惹哭的老板，以及手臂布满伤痕的甜点实习生，电影向我们展示了生活的不易，可除了继续别无他法。

一颗星给结尾。喜欢这部电影估计是因为可以从中看到理想爱情的模样：平等。有生之年应该不可能遇到除我妈以外，对视就会热泪盈眶的人了。
