The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 没有想象的这么好，节奏太慢了，2个半小时，最后我加速看的，讽刺的现象都是普遍存在的，一直存在的，毕竟是著作，当时这种事情可能还值得抨击，放在现在真是见怪不怪了。
是精彩的，虽然拍摄得比较中规中矩，叙事靠旁白强行推进，但是巴尔扎克的作品太厉害了。洞察力，敏锐性，批判性在近两百年后的今天依旧有强烈现实意义。

Un film emportant, empalent, éblouissant de la mise en scène tout en ayant une voix musicale, remarquable. L’adaptation est à la fois moderne et historique. Une densité narrative est également incroyable. Bref, un film ambitieux, luxueux, poignant.

虽然是巴尔扎克时代的故事，但仍与如今的现实相符合。
讲的是一个年轻的外省诗人随贵妇情人进入巴黎、被丢下于是转行做小报记者、借助各路朋友敌人摸爬滚打逐渐声名鹊起、企图重新获得贵族头衔最终彻底幻灭的经历。
又一个类似于连的小镇青年来到巴黎闯荡，找情妇，找工作，忙到最后又如何。。从前不可能的，如今一一成为可能：银行家从政了，平民也可以发达了。。。天真+虚荣，害人又害己……
