The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 不像东木。时间回到80年代初，当时的东木拍了西部的《不屈不挠》与公路的《天涯父子情》，这次又是部黄昏牛仔的公路片。后半段有点崩（中间点关于信仰）。危险源于小孩、他人、自然、自我。
好简单安逸又温柔的东木，最喜欢墨西哥小镇那段时光。
其实他还健康的偶尔拍拍东西，我们就该感恩了不是吗，这就足够了。
当放下对社会的观点和认知表达，老年人的浪漫和情怀成了我们眼中老套的故事。
又一个暮年英雄的角色，一趟明知结局的旅程，和以往的作品相比要平庸一些。但91岁还在努力创作的人，除了东木老爷子应该没有第二位了吧。
基本上是轻喜剧版的骡子，东木大爷拍这部已经完全是一种老小孩的状态了，轻松诙谐，拍电影这件事对于已经90多岁的人来说已经是一个传奇了，老牛仔风姿仍存.

老爷子真硬，很温暖，很安静。突然想起自己很久之前“一直在路上”的梦想。

在只会努嘴的小孩面前，东木的演技太内敛、深沉了，他们自始至终都没融在一起。至于营造气氛和解决冲突，老头连行活都不屑于使，直接一记「鸡械降神」给我看呆。
喜欢中间两幕场景的处理和设计.老爷子的电影大概看一部少一部吧.且看且珍惜.整个片子是温和的 .
比预期要好，东木的影片向来情感真挚，可总少不了一丝说教味，在车上与男孩的对话是一种自嘲，对于牛仔/硬汉精神开始进行思考，在精神上有了一丝突破，期待他今后的创作方向。
能一直拍老年人的故事也就是克林特了吧？依旧一流的表演。故事已经逐渐走向了温情小品，不失为一种智慧。
