The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 比较意外的是，虽然是搞笑片，但剧情编得还挺完整，故事说得过去。拉肖自导自演，玩得很开心，观众也看得很开心。其中各种恶搞其他电影和新闻报道也是不少，能看懂的观众自然会会心一笑。

76人队球探深得老板信任，提升为助理教练，和老板儿子不和。老板突然去世，儿子接管又让他去当球探，在西班牙野球场发现一个22岁的单亲父亲，打球有天赋，把他弄到美国选秀，第一场发挥不好，球探和老板而发生口角吧被炒，球探自费训练小伙子。在球场上别人挑衅他，差点打人，控制不了情绪，外加因家庭有伤人的前科。就在要回西班牙的前夕，球探的朋友组织一场比赛，小伙子大放异彩，被凯尔特人看中。球探回到76人助理教练的岗位。
