The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 我以为是岁岁年年，没想到就是一年。而且讲故事的能力太差了。而且男主角总觉得各方面都差点儿意思，也就毛晓彤的甜值这两星了。
打着都市情侣情感现状的幌子，却始终切不中有说服力的现实问题，相聚与分离都显得过于儿戏，男性与女性被冠上了不同的滤镜，讨好女性观众的意图过于直白。可悲的是，明明现实中的情侣日常有太多更加值得讨论的争吵原因，复合也并非只是因为感动于听取了曾经的建议，将分手责任归因到工作忙碌或是否成功是罕见的，往往一方不爱了才是身边最常听到的原因，而对对方的不满也时常造就了来自双方口中两种不同的解释……
不要害怕分手，因为就算分开，这辈子也只能是你——
